Geographical location

The municipality Bălăbăneşti, with (according to different specifications) total area of 2,570 hectares or 3,799.56, located in the historical region West of Moldova in the north of the circle Galaţi. On the stream of the same name - a tributary of the Jeravăț - and the national road ( Drum național ) DN 24D is Bălăbăneşti 23 kilometers west of the small town of Bereşti ; the district capital Galați is about 90 kilometers south of Bălăbăneşti.

The municipality's train station on the Galați – Bârlad railway is located in the incorporated village of Lungeşti .
