The steam locomotive series kkStB 112 was a fast - Tender Lokomotiv series of kk Austrian National Railways (kkStB).
In order to set up a fast shuttle service to express train stations, the kkStB needed small, fast locomotives. Karl Gölsdorf designed the 112 series for this purpose. The composite locomotives were well designed, allowed a short-term speed of 100 km / h and could continuously transport 100 t at 80 km / h. When Krauss in Linz delivered the two machines in 1907, they were equipped with a small smoke chamber superheater, which was later removed.
The small locomotives were initially used to transport newspapers between Vienna and Linz . Later they transported the "commuter" between Hütteldorf and Unter Purkersdorf , a connection line to the Vienna Electric Light Rail , where they operated as intermediate locomotives "wrapped" in the middle of the train.
The 112.02 was taken out of service in 1937, the 112.01 came as 69 011 to the Deutsche Reichsbahn , which put it into the system condition in 1942.
