Names

The brook got its name from the curly beech tree after winning "An der Krause Buche".

The brook of the krausen beech rises in the Koberstädter Wald between Egelsbach in the west and Offenthal in the northeast. Its source is about 510 m north-northwest of the Koberstädter Falltorhaus and about 230 m south of the intersection of the forest path Brandschneise and Dammweg in the area of ​​the Hallstatt grave mound group Koberstadt at about 184  m above sea level. NHN .

The predominantly westward flowing stream crosses under the federal highway 661 in the upper reaches and 1.1 km below it on the eastern edge of Egelsbach the Darmstädter Landstrasse , which is part of the federal highway 3 south of the road bridge ; The latter divides the route from Egelsbach to the north with the A 661. To the west of it it flows through the core town of Egelsbach, then along the southern outskirts and crosses under the Main-Neckar railway . Then the stream crosses  under the county road 168. The catchment area (EZG) of the Bach von der Krausen Buche is 6.97 km². Its only major tributary is a nameless brook ( GKZ  = 23982428; left side, 3.8 km long) that flows east above the Bruchsee and passes the Frankfurt-Egelsbach airport before its mouth .
