Railway stations in Hessen |
The Bad Salzschlirf train station is the only train station in the Bad Salzschlirf health resort in East Hesse and is located on the Vogelsbergbahn Gießen - Fulda . From 1898 to 1989 the railway to Niederjossa branched off here .
history
The Bad Salzschlirfer train station was put into operation on December 31, 1870 as the end of the third construction phase of the Vogelsbergbahn (Lauterbach Nord – Bad Salzschlirf). On July 31, 1871, the Vogelsbergbahn was completed with the extension to Fulda.
On October 1, 1898, the line to Schlitz was opened and Bad Salzschlirf thus became a separation station . In 1914, Schlitz was extended to Niederjossa to the Gründchenbahn . Passenger traffic on the Bad Salzschlirf – Niederjossa railway was stopped on May 31, 1964 and the section to Schlitz was closed in 1989. A cycle path was then created on the former route .
Since the 2011/2012 timetable change on December 11, 2011, passenger traffic has been handled by Hessische Landesbahn GmbH (HLB) using LINT 41 diesel multiple units.
Railway systems
The classical reception building was built in 1870 with the opening of the Vogelsbergbahn. The ticket office has been closed since September 1st, 1998.
Bad Salzschlirf train station has two platform tracks. The house platform (track 1) serves both the trains in the direction of Gießen and those in the direction of Fulda. Track 2 on the intermediate platform is only used at crossings, but no planned crossings are provided in the current timetable. The platforms are not barrier-free . All other tracks have been removed.
The mechanical signal box Sf has been located east of the reception building since 1912.
business
Bad Salzschlirf is in the tariff area of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV). Since the closure of the Bad Salzschlirf – Niederjossa railway line, the station has only been a junction station for train crossings on the Vogelsbergbahn . Regional trains run every hour between Gießen and Fulda every day. Since the timetable change on December 11, 2011, almost all trains have continued to run on the Lahn Valley Railway to Limburg (Lahn). Several bus lines stop at the train station, which connect it with the surrounding communities of the Fulda and Vogelsberg districts.
Since the 2016/2017 timetable change on December 11, 2016, the trains of the Vogelsbergbahn and the subsequent Lahntalbahn have been running continuously as RB 45 instead of the previous RB 25 (Lahntalbahn) or RB 35 (Vogelsbergbahn).
