The Berlin-Schulzendorf train station (also with the addition “b Tegel” to distinguish it) is a train station of the Berlin S-Bahn . It is currently served by the S25 line.
location
The station is in the Berlin district of Heiligensee in the Reinickendorf district . It is located at kilometer 15.3 of the Kremmener Bahn and runs between Ruppiner Chaussee and Bisonweg, directly at junction 3 (Schulzendorfer Straße) of the A 111 . It is the penultimate or second train station in Berlin.
history
Originally put into operation as a stop for the branch line on October 1, 1893 together with the remaining stations on the route between Schönholz and Velten , the station had to be expanded to double tracks on October 1, 1910 due to industrial settlements in Hennigsdorf and Heiligensee . Originally the station was called Heiligensee-Schulzendorf . He was with the opening of the station Heiligensee in Schulzendorf renamed. Since 1925 it has been called Schulzendorf (b Tegel) .
With the electrification of the line and the elevation of the railway line in 1927, trains ran every 10 minutes during rush hour .
After the Second World War , the second track was dismantled in 1945 and given to the Soviet Union as a reparation payment .
The trains only ran every 20 minutes until January 9, 1984, when the station was finally shut down.
On December 15, 1998, after a thorough renovation of the station, train traffic was resumed with the S25 line of the Berlin S-Bahn.
In 2001 a south access to the platform including a passenger elevator was built.
Planning
The states of Berlin and Brandenburg are investigating the integration of the Prignitz-Express via the Kremmener Bahn to Gesundbrunnen station . The preferred variant provides for a mixed operation of the Prignitz Express with the S-Bahn between Tegel and Hennigsdorf, with the second track being built between Tegel and Schulzendorf.
traffic
The S-Bahn station is served by the S25 line of the S-Bahn Berlin every 20 minutes. The only option to change to another public transport connection is the S Schulzendorf bus stop on line 124 or N24 of the BVG .
