The Berlin Osdorfer Straße station is a stop in the Berlin district of Lichterfelde in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district , which is served by the S25 and S26 lines of the Berlin S-Bahn. It was only put into operation in 1998 and is therefore one of the youngest Berlin S-Bahn stations.

location

The stop at the Anhalter Bahn is located in Lichterfelde in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district , about 13 km as the crow flies southwest of Berlin city center . It borders on Osdorfer Strasse and Hildburghauser Strasse . The Berlin-Lichterfelde Süd train station is around 1.1 km south and the Lichterfelde Ost train station is around 1.6 km away . The Osdorfer Straße train station is in the Berlin B tariff zone of the Berlin-Brandenburg transport association .

Naming

The station is named after the Osdorfer Straße, which is directly adjacent to the station. Osdorf was a municipality in the Teltow-Fläming district south of Berlin .

history

A train station at the place where today's Osdorfer Straße stop is located was planned as early as the 1970s in order to better serve the thermometer settlement . After the widening of Osdorfer Strasse, the railway bridges and the distances between the two tracks were widened on behalf of the Deutsche Reichsbahn . The Berlin Senate bore the costs . However, the new building did not take place before 1998. With the opening of the station, the S-Bahn line Lichterfelde Ost - Lichterfelde Süd was put back into operation.

Since the end of 2015, train handling has been carried out by the driver using the driver's cab monitor (ZAT-FM).

Investments

The station building in June 2006
The northern access to the station in May 2013

The station has a flat central platform that is not covered and has one exit at the north and two at the south end. The station can thus be reached from both sides of Osdorfer Straße. A 31 m long glazed corridor leads from a southern staircase to the platforms.
