The Cerbère train station is the last station of the cross-border railway Narbonne-Portbou in France . It is right on the border with Spain , the Portbou terminal station is already across the border. Until the new Perpignan – Figueres line went into operation , it was the most important French border station off the Iberian Peninsula, alongside Hendaye station .

Cerbère is located on the Mediterranean coast of southern France on the eastern edge of the foothills of the Pyrenees in the Pyrénées-Orientales department . history

The station was opened in 1878 by the Compagnie des chemins de fer du Midi et du Canal latéral à la Garonne on the Perpignan - Port-Bou line.
