Track plan at Derne station (as of 2005)
Derne station in April 2007

The Dortmund-Derne Station , now again a breakpoint , lies on the Dortmund-Enschede railway on the edge of the Dortmund district Derne . The regional train RB 50 “ Der Lüner ” from Dortmund to Lünen on the Dortmund – Enschede railway line and the RB 51 ( Westmünsterlandbahn ) run once an hour between long-distance trains .

history

After the line between Dortmund and Lünen was completed in 1874, only a simple stop was set up near the Gneisenau colliery, which had been under construction since 1873 . A permanent station building was not built until 1890. The building was built in brick and, in addition to the ticket office and other service rooms, also included an extension with a waiting room and catering. On the first floor there were apartments for railway officials and their families.

To the south of the reception building were the transfer tracks of the Gneisenau colliery, here the Harpener Bergbau AG also built the main workshop for iron structures in 1902 (closed in 2004). In 1904 the Dörnen company built a large factory for steel bridges with branched, in-house track systems. It stopped production in 2003.

Up until the turn of the millennium, a block-type thermal power station located to the north-west - which has since been demolished - still received coal via a siding that ran between the station building and the platform.

Investments

There are two side platforms. The western platform (direction Dortmund Hbf.) Is barrier-free from Molkenstrasse, the east (direction Lünen Hbf.) From Hostedder Str.

There were two sidings south of the platforms. Formerly existing stabling and sidings in the west of the railway line have been removed.
