The Heerenveen Railway Station is the largest train station in the Dutch town of Heerenveen and the second-busiest of the province of Friesland . The station is used by 6,236 people every day (2018). It is the central hub in urban public transport . National regional and long-distance trains run at the station.

history

The station was opened on January 15, 1868, with the section between Leeuwarden and Heerenveen, the railway line to railway line Arnhem-Leeuwarden . The station was rebuilt in 1983 based on a design by the architect Jan van Belkum.
