The Lelystad Centrum railway station is the largest station in the Dutch city of Lelystad and the traffic on the second largest station in the province of Flevoland . It is the central hub in urban public transport . National regional and long-distance trains run through the station.
history
The station was opened on May 28, 1988 with the extension of the Weesp – Lelystad line from Almere Buiten . It is the only train station in the city; The Lelystad-Zuid station, which is currently under construction, will not go into operation before 2025 due to the slower population development. The train station is in an elevated position in the center of Lelystad. After an expansion, the station now has 4 tracks. This capacity expansion became necessary with the construction of the railway line from Zwolle to Lelystad .
