The Jossa station is next to the Sterbfritz station one of two operating stations in the East Hessian community Sinntal in the Main-Kinzig district . The station is located on the Flieden – Gemünden line, known as the “Fulda-Main-Bahn” . It belongs to station category 5 of DB Station & Service and has three platform tracks and several sidings . The station is in the network area of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV). From 1891 to 2005, more than had Altengronau the Bavarian Bad Brückenau and after Wildflecken leading railway Jossa-Wildflecken their starting point.

The Jossa train station is far from the eponymous district of the Sinntal community on Landesstraße 2304. There are no footpaths from the train station to the town. As a pedestrian you have to walk along the state road, which only has a minimal shoulder as a pedestrian path, to Jossa or take one of the buses that run at the train station into town.
history
Jossa station was opened in 1873, when the railway line from Gemünden in Elm station was connected to the Hessian Kinzigtalbahn .
In 1891 the Sinntalbahn branching off in Jossa - initially between Jossa and Bad Brückenau - was opened. The extension to Wildflecken took place on December 17, 1908. On May 27, 1988 the passenger traffic and on February 4, 2002 the freight traffic on this route was stopped. The final shutdown of the entire line by the Federal Railway Authority followed on March 31, 2005.

The Mainfrankenbahn trains run on average every two hours between Schlüchtern and Würzburg Hbf (some further to Schweinfurt city or Bamberg ). There is no continuous clock. In between there are trains on the Jossa – Gemünden (Main) route and beyond. In the RMV the trains are called RB 53 .

Jossa is in the network area of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV). In the direction of Bavaria , only the tariffs of Deutsche Bahn apply , as there are no transitional tariff areas between RMV and VVM on the Schlüchtern – Gemünden line. The tariffs of the Verkehrsverbund Mainfranken (VVM) only apply from the next train station, Obersinn .
