List of train stations in Italy |
The Klausen Station ( Italian Stazione di Chiusa , Ladin Stazion de Tluses ) is located on the Brenner railway in South Tyrol .
location
The Klausen train station is located at an altitude of 523 m in the middle Eisack Valley in the Griesbruck district northeast of the city center of Klausen . The nearby old town is slightly offset on the opposite side of the Eisack and can be quickly reached with a footbridge. Klausen is an important junction for individual traffic, as there is an exit from the A22 and the SS 12 and SS 242 meet.
history
The Klausen station was put into operation in 1867 together with the entire section of the Brenner Railway between Innsbruck and Bolzano . Between 1916 and 1960 the terminus of the Val Gardena Railway was in the immediate vicinity , which further strengthened the importance of the station.
Various smaller adaptations were carried out in the 20th century, including the creation of P + R spaces. A thorough renovation and partial museumization of the reception building financed by the state of South Tyrol was completed in 2009. In the course of the renovation work on the interior, subsequent structural additions were restored to the original state.
Buildings
The reception building designed by Wilhelm von Flattich is almost completely preserved in its original state. It is made of light-colored Bressanone granite , while decorative elements such as the embossed base and the corner cubes are made of porphyry . On the street side, the roof is designed with wooden gables . The building has been a listed building since 2004.
function
From an operational point of view, the Klausen train station has only been a stopping point since 2006 . It is served by regional trains from Trenitalia and SAD , which also operates several bus connections to the station. The importance of the train station arises from the function of Klausen as a traffic junction of the central Eisack valley.
