The Laucha (Unstrut) station is a railway operating point of the town of Laucha an der Unstrut in the Burgenland district in the south of Saxony-Anhalt . It was opened in 1889 and was a separation station until the early 1990s .

location

The Laucha train station is located at kilometer 13.185 on the Naumburg – Reinsdorf railway line (Unstrutbahn). In addition, it was the starting point for the Laucha – Kölleda (Finnebahn) railway (route kilometers 0.0). Both routes branch off towards the west.

It is located about 200 meters south of the town center. The streets immediately adjacent are Ladestraße and Am Stadtfeld .

The neighboring station to the east is the Balgstädt stop about five kilometers away . To the west, this is the Kirchscheidungen stop , which is about three kilometers away. The Golzen stop is on the disused route to Kölleda . Its distance to Laucha is around four kilometers.

history

On October 1, 1889, the Laucha station on the Unstrut Railway went into operation. The station was of great importance for both passenger and freight traffic. Two companies had their own siding. These were a sugar and canning factory. Raw materials and fuel as well as the finished products were transported by rail.

The Finnebahn went into operation on July 1, 1914. Thus Laucha became a station of separation . In this context, the station was significantly expanded in a south-westerly direction. There were now two platforms, each with two tracks, which were connected by a passenger tunnel. In addition, all freight tracks and a drainage mountain were built .

On October 1, 1973, passenger traffic on the Finnebahn ended. Freight traffic took place there until the beginning of the 1990s. Since then, Laucha is no longer a separation station.

Platforms (2014)

At the end of the 1990s, the tracks looked like this: The continuous main track (8) and the passenger train crossing track (7) were located on a central platform . Track 5 served as a freight train track. The continuous main track on the line to Kölleda (9) was together with track 10 also on a central platform. The remaining tracks were storage and loading tracks. The pedestrian tunnel provided access to both platforms. In 2015 this was partially backfilled. A level crossing now leads to the platform.

The renovation of the central platform was completed in 2013. This cost about 490,000 euros. In addition, the associated bus stop has been redesigned so that buses and trains can be better connected. Their length is 90 meters and 55 centimeters, respectively.

Entrance building, street side (2014)

The station building is a listed building . It is a two-story brick shell. It once housed a ticket office, baggage acceptance and distribution, service rooms, a restaurant and apartments. In 2013, Deutsche Bahn sold the station building and has been privately owned since then. Attached to it is a goods shed, which was followed by a ramp. A loading street led there. There was also a toilet building .

Laucha has a dispatcher interlocking "Lw". It is a Jüdel-type mechanical signal box . Another signal box was called "Lo" and is now out of service.

At the end of 2015, some switches in Laucha station were removed.

traffic

The regional train line RB 77 currently serves the station every hour. These trains run between Naumburg (Saale) Hbf or Naumburg Ost and Wangen (Unstrut) or Nebra . Local bus lines connect the station with the city center of Laucha and with Freyburg (Unstrut) , Lossa , Naumburg, Nebra, Allerstedt , Wiehe or Bad Bibra, among others .
