The Nijmegen Goffert station is a railway station in the homonymous district in the town of Nijmegen , the largest in the province of Gelderland . The stop on the Tilburg – Nijmegen railway line, which opened in 2014, plays an important role in local public transport in the municipality. The Goffert Stadium and the Canisius Wilhelmina Hospital are in the vicinity of the train station .
history
The architects Paul van der Ree and Peter Heideman from the Movares engineering office were responsible for the design of the station . The station emerged from the Stadsregiorail project , which is intended to optimize local public transport in the area of rail traffic in the Stadsregio Arnhem-Nijmegen . Construction work began in January 2014 and was completed with the opening on December 14 of the same year. The construction costs amounted to a total of 13.5 million euros.
