The Pyskowice – Lubliniec (Peiskretscham – Lublinitz) railway is a continuous double-track and electrified railway line in the Polish Voivodeship of Silesia , on which passenger traffic, with the exception of some long-distance trains from PKP Intercity, has been discontinued.

Course and condition

The line began at Pyskowice station and formed the third track on the Bytom – Wrocław railway line as far as Paczyna (km 4.723) , from there it continues via Toszek Północ station (km 10.740), the beginning of the Toszek – Rudziniec Gliwicki freight railway , the former station Czarków (km 22.210), from which there was a connecting track in the direction of Tarnowskie Góry , and the former Krupski Młyn junction (km 24.650), where a connection from the direction of Tarnowskie Góry met, to Lubliniec (km 40.416) on the Kalety – Wrocław and the railway line Kielce – Fosowskie railway line .

On the remaining Paczyna – Lubliniec section, the line is double-tracked and electrified. One track is to be used from Paczyna to Toszek Północ at sixty, then at one hundred, from kilometer 22.800 at one hundred and ten kilometers per hour for freight trains at sixty, one hundred or eighty, the other up to kilometer 22.800 only at sixty, otherwise equal.

history

The line was opened on September 30, 1952 by the Polish State Railways . In 1972 the second track and electrification (May 23) were completed, but passenger traffic was stopped on October 15, 1973. For several years now, some long-distance traffic has been running on the route again.
