Baqtijar Ghabituly Qoschatajew ( Kazakh Бақтияр Ғабитұлы Қожатаев , Russian Бахтияр Габитович Кожатаев Bakhtiyar Gabitowitsch Koschatajew , English Bakhtiyar Kozhatayev * 28. March 1992 in Petropavlovsk ) is a Kazakh cyclist .
Career
Qoschatajew won the 2012 mountain classification of the Heydar Aliyev Anniversary Tour , which he finished third overall, and was also third on the Tour de Azerbaijan . He then received a contract for the Continental Team Astana , the farm team of the UCI WorldTeam Astana . During his time with the Continental Team , he won the mountain classification of the Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux in 2013 and was again third in the Tour de Azerbaijan. As a national driver , he finished fourth in the overall ranking of the UCI Nations' Cup U23 race Tour de l'Avenir in 2014 .
After Qoschatajew drove as a stagiaire with the WorldTeam at the end of the 2014 season, he received a regular contract there from the 2015 season. He finished seventh overall in the Tour of Hainan 2017 , a stage race in the hors category . With the Giro d'Italia 2016 he contested his first Grand Tour and finished the race 65th. At the Asian Cycling Championships in 2017 he won the team time trial with the Kazakh national team .
Due to heart problems, his team did not give him a new contract for the 2019 season.
