Life
Moscoso first studied canon law and then went through a typical church career. This included a canonate in Toledo and an archdeaconate in Guadalajara and a deanery at the cathedral in Toledo. He was a nephew of the Duke of Lerma , an influential minister at the court of the Spanish King Philip III. He owed the Duque de Lerma to be awarded the cardinal's hat in 1615. In 1628 he declared the two young martyrs Bonosus and Maximianus to be patron saints of the city of Arjona and had a church built in honor of their relics .
