The Bammelecke is a headland in the Langen See in the Berlin district of Grünau .

location

The headland is located in the southeast of the Grünau district around 3.4 kilometers southeast of the Berlin-Grünau train station . It is located in a channel lake , which is called the Langer See and is traversed by the Dahme . It is overgrown with mixed forest and at the northeast end is a beach. The Bammelecke is also in the drinking water protection zone II of the Friedrichshagen waterworks . The headland can be reached from land via the sports promenade running south , an extension of the regatta road. There is also a stop of the same name for the Schmöckwitz – Grünauer Uferbahn of the BVG . The Dahmeweg , one of 20 main green paths , runs along the Bammelecke.

Origin of name

The daily newspaper Neues Deutschland reported in an article from 2001 that the name of the headland is derived from the Berlin dialect . The newspaper also reported that there were at the Bammelecke in water shallow places where barges or pleasure boats were stranded. Tourist use

In 2019 there will be a 60-meter-long bathing area on the headland with a water rescue station run by the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund . This is protected from the east running waterway by a tonnage . The city ​​magazine Prinz describes the bathing area as an "insider tip".
