Bansgadhi ( Nepali बाँसगढी ) is a city ( municipality ) in southwestern Nepal in the Bardiya district .

The city was created on December 2, 2014 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees Belawa , Deudakala and Motipur . The urban area covers 206 km². The city is located in the Terai 20 km north of Nepalganj . The Mahendra Rajmarg highway runs through Bansgadhi.

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs from which the city of Bansgadhi emerged had 55,875 inhabitants (26,302 male) in 11,210 households.
