Barbara Ann Brennan (born February 19, 1939 ) is an American so-called spiritual healer and author of esoteric books.

Live and act

Barbara Ann Brennan studied physics at the University of Wisconsin in Madison , earned her bachelor's degree in 1962 and graduated two years later with a master's degree in aeronomics . She worked as a researcher at the Goddard Space Flight Center of NASA , where it joins the reflection employed by sunlight through the earth.

According to her own statements, she later completed a two-year psychotherapeutic training with the Community of the Whole Person in Washington DC and, from 1978, a three-year training in Core Energetics , a form of body psychotherapy related to bioenergetics and the therapeutic approaches of Wilhelm Reich at the Institute for Core Energetics in New York , followed by a five-year course in Spiritual Healership at the Phenicia Pathwork Center in Phenicia , New York. She also said she was involved in research projects at Drexel University and the Institute for New Age , where she was supposed to be able to deflect laser beams through spiritual energies. She earned a "doctorate in theology" from an unaccredited private university for "holistic healing" in Missouri.

Brennan founded the Barbara Brennan School of Healing (BBSH) in South Florida ( USA ), which offers an unrecognized master's degree and a professional studies diploma in its healing method Brennan Healing Science . The school is not accredited , only licensed by the state of Florida. In 2003 she opened the Barbara Brennan School of Healing Europe (BBSHE) in Mondsee , Austria . In September 2006 the school was relocated to Bad Neuenahr near Bonn and in 2008 to Bad Ischl (Austria), where it lasted until 2015.

Brennan's esoteric ideas

In 1990 her first book “Licht-Arbeit” appeared on the German market. According to Brennan's own statements, it had a circulation of over a million worldwide and has been translated into 22 languages. In 1994 her second book "Licht-Heilung" was published in German.

Brennan describes the aura as a system divided into nine levels, four of which are supposed to be assigned to the physical world and the rest to the spiritual world. This corresponds to Annie Besant's model , supplemented by two additional levels. It is also compatible with Max Heindel's model of the subtle levels , since like Brennan he assigns the four lower assumed subtle levels to the physical level, while both assign the levels above to another world, which Heindel calls "astral world" or "world of feelings" , which Brennan calls the “spiritual world”.

Brennan connects the lowest aura level with the assumed acupuncture meridians , as postulated in the alternative medicine traditional Chinese medicine and electroacupuncture according to Voll.

Brennan describes a system that should consist of seven main chakras and twenty-one secondary chakras as well as many energy points that are supposed to transform energy from the higher aura levels to the lower levels. Brennan also lists various works on the subject of aura in the broader and narrower sense.

Brennan does not propose any new theories in her book, but rather summarizes the existing.
