Barbie and the Diamond Castle is a 2008 computer-animated film set in the Barbie universe .
action
Barbie is making music with her friend Teresa when they are interrupted by Barbie's sister Stacie. She expresses a quarrel with her friend, whereupon Barbie tells her a fairy tale , which is also about two good friends who split up in an argument and risked their lives:
Delia (in the form of Barbie) and Alexa (in the form of Teresa) are best friends and one day they find two apparently magical jewelry hearts, which they immediately put on as a sign of their friendship. Later they meet an old, starved woman. Delia shares her last bread with the woman, who shows her appreciation and gives the two girls a mirror.
They later discover that Melody, a young musical muse , is trapped in this mirror. She explains to Delia and Alexa that on the run from Lydia, a vicious muse, she fled into the mirror and can no longer get out on her own. Lydia and her subordinate dragon Slyder are on the search for the magical dwelling (the diamond castle) Melodys and she does everything she can to find the mirror in which Melody is hiding.
When Lydia learns of Melody's whereabouts, she sends Slyder, who finally destroys Delias and Alexa's home. Slyder steals a false, non-magical mirror on it. The two women flee with the mirror and are about to find the diamond castle and protect it from Lydia.
However, the trio has no money and hunger sets in. So they decide to sing in an inn. They replace the late appearing duo, consisting of Ian and Jeremy, which the two take with humor. However, an attempt by the men to flirt fails. Delia, Alexa and Melody continue on their way, followed by Ian and Jeremy, who took a liking to the women. After leaving, Lydia arrives at the inn and enchants those present in order to find out the whereabouts of the wanted women. After a chase, Lydia tries to enchant Delia and Alexa. However, because of the two pendants they once found, they are protected from the evil spell. You can escape.
Arrived at an accommodation, there is a dispute between Delia and Alexa, whereupon Delia leaves the dwelling. Alexa throws away the magic necklace in anger. Shortly afterwards she is surprised by Lydia and Slyder and is captured without her supporter acting as protection. She, too, falls victim to Lydia's magic.
Delia is meanwhile with Melody in the mirror on the way to the seven stones, which serve as markings for the hidden diamond lock. However, this is also taken up by Lydia a little later. Delia and Alexa, held captive in Lydia's home, manage to free themselves. Together with Ian and Jeremy, who went in search of the women, they make their way back to the seven stones. There Lydia meanwhile asks Melody to have the diamond castle appear. With a delaying tactic, she manages to keep Lydia busy until Ian, Jeremy, Delia and Alexa appear and Lydia can finally snatch the flute that enabled Lydia to enchant. Lydia initially disappears in a water suction.
Melody then makes the lock appear together with Alexa and Delia; The women's singing was the key. When they enter the castle, Melody is able to free herself from her mirror. Lydia, believed to have been defeated, appears one more time with Slyder to cast her evil spell against the women. However, they can counteract the magic with singing and playing musical instruments, so that the magic ultimately works against Lydia herself and ends up as a stone figure. Now that the area is at peace, Alexa and Delia make their way home. Ian and Jeremy receive electric guitars as thanks for their help.
In the present, Barbie has now ended her story and Stacie has realized that true friendship cannot be broken by anything.
