Barbie in Swan Lake (original title Barbie of Swan Lake ) is an American animated film from 2003. It is a direct-to-video production by Mainframe Entertainment in cooperation with Mattel Entertainment , directed by Owen Hurley .
action
Odette, the daughter of a baker , follows a unicorn into an enchanted forest in which the fairy queen and her cousin, the evil magician Rothbart, are fighting for rule. Rothbart turns Odette into a swan when they first meet . The fairy queen softens the curse so that Odette regains her human form during the night. The inhabitants of the forest, who are also enchanted, believe that Odette is the one who, according to a prophecy, will be able to use a magic crystal to rid her world of the evil spell. Together with the unicorn Lila and the troll Erasmus, Odette reveals the secret of the crystal. When Daniel, the prince of her homeland, gets lost in the magical forest, he falls in love with Odette. The magic of Rothbart can only be broken if the prince swears his eternal love to the wearer of the crystal. With a trick, Rothbart succeeds in getting Prince Daniel to swear this oath to his daughter Odile because he thinks she is Odette. Through the false oath, the spell over Odette is also released, who regains her human form and flees into the magic forest with the fairy queen and her entourage. There it comes to a fight between Rothbart, Odette and the rushing to help Prince Daniel, in which the magician can be defeated by the power of the crystal.
