The Bashkaus ( Russian Башкаус ) is a left tributary of the Chulyshman in the Russian Altai Republic .

The river rises on the northern slope of the Kurai-ridge in the eastern Altai Mountains . It flows in a north-westerly direction, later in a northerly direction, before flowing into the Chulyshman . The Baschkaus has a length of 219 km. The catchment area covers 7770 km². The Bashkaus has many rapids and is one of the most difficult kayaking waters in Russia.
