Batac (officially: City of Batac ; Filipino : Lungsod ng Batac ) is a city ( component city ) in the Philippine province of Ilocos Norte .

The city is the birthplace of the bishop and co-founder of the Independent Philippine Church , Gregorio Aglipay (1860-1940), whose tomb is here. The former governor of the province of Ilocos Norte Ferdinand Marcos Jr. , son of the former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, also comes from Batac . The Marcos family owns a property with a mausoleum in Batac, in which the chemically preserved body of Marcos is kept in a chilled glass coffin. In Batac there is also a museum and a monument to Ferdinand Marcos.

Two rivers flow through Batac, the Quiaoit and the Garasgas. There are also many lakes in the area.

On 23 June 2007, the was Congress of the Philippines adopted on 24 July 2006 Republic Act No. Ratified 9407 in a referendum by the Batac by a municipality ( municipality ) to the city ( component city was) raised.
