The steam locomotive of the type Bayerische G 4/5 N was designed on the basis of the Bavarian EI . It has obvious similarities to the last version of the EI, which has been continuously developed in several series. If the number system of the K.Bay.Sts.B. had not been converted shortly before, the G 4/5 N would probably have been put into service as an EI. In the further development of the E I and the G 4/5 N, findings from the design of two freight locomotives acquired from Baldwin in the USA (and also classified as E I) were used. The Krauss company delivered seven examples of this type of locomotive between 1905 and 1906. The fire box stood on the frame through the high kettle. This design, which was characteristic of the Bavarian locomotives according to Maffei's handwriting, was already recognizable here; and the construction sequence led to the Baden VIIIe, the Swiss C 4/5 and finally the Bavarian G 4/5 H , all developed by Maffei. The Deutsche Reichsbahn took over the four copies that had remained in their home country after the First World War and gave them the operating numbers 56 401–404. The vehicles were in use until 1927.

Two machines came after the First World War to the PKP and were led there as Tr102. They no longer appear in the second list of PKP machines from 1936, which is still available to research today.

The vehicles were traveling with a Tender of the type bay 2'2 'T 18.2 equipped.
