Beatbox Eliot

Beatbox Eliot , also known as a graffiti artist under the name Colorbox Eliot (bourgeois Markus Henning ; born August 21, 1972 in Munich ) is a German beatboxer , producer, graffiti painter and comic artist. Eliot lives in Berlin.

Life

Beatbox Eliot is considered a veteran of the German beatbox scene, is with Victor Stancu the initiator of the first major BeatBox compilation "The Mystery of Beatbox" and with Kraans de Lutin the author of the first major BeatBox drum kit for "Battery II and III" of the audio software -Producers Native Instruments . Beatbox Eliot founded the electronic project Element Peak Squad with Munich-based Ben Mono ( Compost Records ) and worked with numerous artists such as Guano Apes , Lou Bega , Michael Mittermeier , Brixx and Flowin Immo . In addition to his solo show, he has regular live programs with Randy Twigg (electro), Bina (beatbox) and Zlep (beatbox) and supported Redman and Method Man , as well as the Black Eyed Peas , Emil Bulls , Bauchklang , Da Locco and others the cabaret artist Sebastian Krämer . He also worked on the dubbing of films, books and advertising.

As a Colorbox Eliot , he is also an artist. His pictures show a mixture of graffiti , illustration and comics . Eliot is a member of the graffiti group BK (Böse Knaben), which was founded in 1985 and is one of the oldest active German groups today. He is also a member of the graffiti group AFM (Art For Money). Founding member and initiator together with Scunk , Pace , Flin , Z-ROK , Start and Sole of one of the first German registered ( non-profit ) graffiti associations Viruz.ev 1996 (dissolved 2000).

Together with Scunk, Beatbox Eliot has published numerous short comic stories since 1989, including his own album “ Exzesse im Frauengefranken ”, which was published by Totenkopf Verlag in Munich.

Beatbox Eliot is one of the founders and pioneers of multi-layering or multi-tracking method with which beatboxers are recorded in the studio like a band and use several tracks for different sounds.

Works

As Eliot & Scunk draftsman of short comic stories and the album “ Exzesse im Frauengefranken ”. The joint drawing of the comics and the representation of one's own people as superheroes or antiheroes are considered special. At the age of 19 Scunk & Eliot published their first stories in 1991 in the Munich fanzines " Kromix " and " Comicstrich ". Due to the exaggerated depiction of sex, drug use and violence, a story in the " comic strip " had to be censored. Stories with their characters were also performed as puppet shows.
