Beatrix of Burgundy (Bourbon)
Beatrix of Burgundy ( French Beatrice de Bourgogne ; * 1257 or 1258 ; † October 1, 1310 at Murat Castle ), also called Beatrix of Bourbon , was mistress of Bourbon and countess of Charolais . She was the heiress of John of Burgundy from the older house Burgundy , a son of the Duke Hugo IV. , And Agnes de Bourbon , Lady of Bourbon. She is the ancestor of the Bourbon family .
She married in Clermont-en-Beauvaisis in 1276 Robert de Clermont , Count of Clermont-en-Beauvaisis , a son of the French King Louis the Saint . Six children emerged from the connection:
- Louis I the Lame (French: Louis I. le Boiteux ) (* 1279; † 1342), since 1327 Duke of Bourbon , Count of Clermont-en-Beauvaisis and Count of La Marche
- Blanche (* 1281; † 1304), ⚭ 1303 Robert VII , Count of Auvergne and Boulogne

From her paternal grandfather, on his death in 1272, she inherited the castellans Sauvigne, Doudain, Charolles , Mont-Saint-Vincent and Sauvement . Her uncle, Duke Robert II of Burgundy , withdrew her rights, but had to return them to her in April 1277 and August 1279. After the death of her mother, she also inherited the rights to the Seigneurie Bourbon from her.
Beatrix died on October 1, 1310 and was buried in the Couvent des Cordeliers de Champaigue near Souvigny .
