Bede Beckmeyer
Bede Beckmeyer OSB (born October 11, 1873 in Matale ; † May 22, 1935 ) was a Sri Lankan religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Kandy .
Life
Bede Beck Meyer joined the Congregation of Benedictine at and received on 23 June 1899, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On April 19, 1912, Pope Pius X appointed him Bishop of Kandy. The Apostolic Delegate of the East Indies, Archbishop Ladislaus Zaleski , donated him episcopal ordination on June 30 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Quilon , Alois Benziger OCD , and the Bishop of Jaffna , Henri Joulain OMI .
