Bednaja Nastja ( Russian Бедная Настя , German  poor Nastja ) is a Russian historical telenovela from 2003-2004, which was broadcast in 34 countries. The telenovela is set in the 19th century and is based on the real historical situation. Real historical figures also appear in the series. However, situations and main characters are fictional.

Saint Petersburg in 1839. The old Baron Korf raised the orphan Anna like his own daughter. He dreams of seeing Anna on the theater stage . You can see a great talent in the young woman and predict a great future for her. But nobody knows that Anna is a serf of Korf. The young Baron Vladimir Korf despises Anna, but is seized with a secret passion for her. The young Prince Mikhail Repnin fell in love with the talented actress. But he doesn't know anything about their parentage .

After the death of her husband, Princess Maria Dolgorukaja learns that he is supposed to have an illegitimate daughter Nastja and that old Korf knew about it. The widow wants to take revenge on the Korf and seize the estate of the Korf family. Maria's older daughter Lisa is in love with Vladimir Korf. The princess, who is greedy for money, intends to marry Lisa off to an old and rich nobleman whom her daughter does not like.

Who is this poor Nastja, this illegitimate child of the late Prince, becomes known at the end of the telenovela. But it is not that difficult to guess that the Korf's serf Anna is Princess Anastasia Dolgorukaja in reality.

The premiere of the telenovela Bednaja Nastja took place on October 31, 2003 on STS . The television series was broadcast in prime time on weekdays at 8:00 p.m. until April 30, 2004 (with the morning repetition at 8:00 a.m.).

Bednaja Nastja was the first Russian telenovela to air on STS and Amedia's first project . The success of the telenovela inspired the other joint projects of the two companies, such as Ne rodis karassiwoj , Adjutanty ljubwi and Moja prekrasnaja njaja .

From June 21, 2004 the repetition of the telenovela on Rossija began again in prime time on weekdays at 8:55 p.m. (with the morning repetition at 8:45 a.m.). However, it was later postponed to noon.

On January 10, 2006, STS began to repeat the telenovela on weekdays at 5.30 p.m. due to numerous requests from viewers. In February 2006 Bednaja Nastja was replaced by another repetition of Charmed and postponed to 12 noon.

On July 18, 2008, the Russian broadcaster Domaschni started repeating the television series at 5:00 p.m. and 3:45 a.m.

Ukraine

The Ukrainian premiere of Bednaja Nastja took place at the same time as the Russian premiere on October 31, 2003 on 1 + 1 at 8:15 p.m. and 2:50 p.m.

From December 1, 2004, Bednaja Nastja was repeated on TET at 9 p.m. In addition, a repetition of the telenovela began again on 1 + 1 on December 19, 2005 at 11:15 a.m.

Another repetition in Ukraine took place on Novy kanal .

China

In 2005, the Chinese national broadcaster Channel 8 broadcast the telenovela under the name Liebe in Saint Petersburg , so that over 20 million viewers saw the story of poor Nastja. Continuation of the telenovela

The great success of the telenovela Bednaja Nastja in Russia, in the successor states of the Soviet Union , Greece and China led to the idea of filming a continuation of the telenovela. It was reported in the press that the recordings should have started in autumn 2005. STS has even the advertising of Poor Nastya 2 broadcast that at today YouTube can be viewed.

The recordings have not started to this day. In his interview on August 5, 2006 for the newspaper Trud , the leading actor Daniil Strachow said that he had no idea whether the sequel was planned and that it would be impossible to bring all the actors back together.
