Behavior ( Behavior in the USA ) is the fourth studio album by the Pet Shop Boys . It was published by Parlophone in October 1990 . It reached in Germany 4th place and in the UK # 2 on the charts.

history

Behavior was produced with Harold Faltermeyer in his Red Deer Studios in Munich . This was also due to the fact that the Pet Shop Boys were dissatisfied with the digital studio technology of the time and wanted to use analog synthesizers , for which Faltermeyer was the right contact. However, in parts the album goes beyond synth pop and offers elements of guitar-oriented pop. So were This Must Be the Place I Waited Years to Leave and My October Symphony with guitarist Johnny Marr added.

reception

Stephen Thomas Erlewine gave Allmusic 4.5 out of 5 stars and called Behavior an “ambitious and breathtaking pop album, which manages to include everything from the spiteful How Can You Expect to Be Taken Seriously? to the wistful Being Boring . "
