Ben Broeders (born June 21, 1995 in Leuven ) is a Belgian pole vaulter .

Athletic career

Ben Broeders gained his first international experience at the 2014 Junior World Championships in Eugene , where he was eliminated from the qualification with a height of 5.00 m. The following year he finished ninth at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn with 5.20 m and in 2016 he qualified for the first time for the European Championships in Amsterdam , where he came in fourth with a skipped 5.50 m. In 2017 he won the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz with 5.60 seconds and in the following year he did not succeed in qualifying at the European Championships in Berlin . In 2019 he took part in the Summer Universiade in Naples and won the bronze medal there with 5.51 m behind Ernest Obiena from the Philippines and Torben Blech from Germany. He also qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where he finished twelfth with 5.55 m in the final .

In 2019 Broeders became Belgian champion in pole vault outdoors and from 2014 to 2016 and 2019 also indoors.
