Ben Siebenrock (born November 12, 1951 in Marbach am Neckar ; † May 2, 2018 in Kiel ) was a German sculptor .

biography

Siebenrock studied from 1975 to 1977 at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule Kiel with Jan Koblasa and from 1977 to 1983 at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig with Emil Cimiotti . In 1978 he and Siegfried Neuenhausen devoted himself to artistic project work at the Oslebshausen correctional facility in Bremen , where he was head of the permanent sculpture workshop from 1980 to 1981. From 1980 to 1982 he conducted studies in the studio of the Italian sculptor Francesco Somaini (1926–2005) in Como .

In 1982 Siebenrock founded his studio, the artist house Langseehof in Kiel . From 1990 to 1991 Siebenrock had a teaching position for sculpture at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences . In 2009 he opened an open-air gallery for large sculptures, the Steinpark in Warder .
