Benedictus Kodzo Akafia

Benedictus Kodzo Akafia (born December 20, 1940 in Vui- Keta in the Volta region ) is a Ghanaian lieutenant general and diplomat in retirement .

education

Benedictus Kodzo Akafia attended Keta Senior High Technical School. In 1961 he was enrolled at the Ghana Military Academy in Teshie . On September 14, 1963, he was appointed lieutenant at the Indian Military Academy . He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in strategy (military), has a degree in business administration and is a member of the Chartered Management Institute .

Career

In his 38-year military career, he was employed in various management and staff positions. From 1975 to 1977 he was chief instructor and deputy, later in command of the Ghana army's Jungle Warfare School in Akyem Achiasi ( Seth Anthony Barracks ) Birim South District . In Islamabad he was from 1977 to 1979 he was deputy military attaché.In a managerial role at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Teshie , he was involved from 1980 to 1982. From 1983 to 1985, Benedictus was in command of the Military Academy and Training School of the Ghana's Armed Forces . from 1985 to 1987 he was the first staff officer at the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon . He was employed in the General Staff of the Ghanaian Armed Forces, where he was head of the personnel department, head of the logistics department, head of military operations and general director of joint operations. He was Chief of Staff of the Ghanaian Armed Forces from October 1996 to February 2001. On January 6, 2001, he was inducted into the Order of the Star of Ghana Military Division. He retired in March 2001 and was appointed Ambassador to Cairo , where he was also appointed High Commissioner (Commonwealth) in Nicosia , based in Cairo . He is married to Patricia and they have a daughter and five sons.
