Benjamin González

Benjamín González ( Benjamín González Gómez ; born April 12, 1958 in Madrid ; † probably: June 4, 2011 in the province of Bizkaia ) was a Spanish sprinter and middle -distance runner whose special courses were the 400 and 800 meter distances .

In 1980 he was part of the Spanish team in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the Olympic Games in Moscow , which was eliminated in the preliminary stages. In 1982 he won bronze over 400 m at the European Athletics Indoor Championships .

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles he started over 800 m and again in the relay, but did not get beyond the first round in both disciplines. At the World Indoor Athletics Games in Paris in 1985 , he won over 800 m silver behind his compatriot Colomán Trabado .

Outdoors he was three times national champion over 400 m (1980-1982), indoors three times over 400 m (1980-1982) and twice over 800 m (1984, 1985).
