Benjamin Ferdinand von Mohl

Benjamin Ferdinand Mohl , from 1820 von Mohl , (born January 4, 1766 in Stuttgart ; † August 5, 1845 there ) was a Württemberg lawyer and politician , briefly he was Minister of the Interior of the Kingdom of Württemberg .

Life

Benjamin Ferdinand Mohl attended the Karlsschule in Stuttgart on September 23, 1781 . He studied law and received his doctorate in 1787. He then spent two years studying in Wetzlar , Göttingen , Regensburg and Vienna . In 1789 he was appointed professor at the Hohen Karlsschule. When the Hohe Karlsschule was closed in 1794, Mohl entered the civil service and in 1795 became a member of the government and 1800 district directorate in Stuttgart. In 1802 he was promoted to the Upper Government Council and assigned the department of road affairs. In 1811 Benjamin Ferdinand Mohl was appointed State Councilor. In 1818 King Wilhelm appointed him president of the Jagstkreis in Ellwangen (Jagst) .

In 1820 Mohl was appointed a lifelong member of the Württemberg state parliament , a position he held until his death. Also in 1820 Mohl was the Kommenturkreuz of the Order of the Württemberg crown awarded, bringing the personal title of nobility ( ennoblement ) was associated. In 1839 he received the Grand Cross of this order.

In 1830 he was briefly Minister of State for the Interior, and in 1831 President of the Evangelical Upper Consistory . He held this post until his retirement in 1843.

From his marriage to Louisa Friederica Autenrieth (1776–1843) came the sons Robert (1799–1875), Julius (1800–1876), Moritz (1802–1888) and Hugo (1805–1872).
