Benjamin Schöckel (born August 16, 1980 in Bad Neustadt an der Saale ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

societies

At the age of six, Schöckel began playing football at the DJK Leutershausen . In 1992 he moved to SV Sportfreunde Bad Neustadt, which he left after three successful years for Schweinfurt. After only one season he left 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 and in 1996 moved to the youth department of FC Bayern Munich .

With the B-Juniors he won after his first season with Bayern with the 3-0 victory over the B-Juniors from Werder Bremen on July 20, 1997 in Unterhaching, the German B-Juniors Championship and also the jump into the DFB selection succeeded. At that time, he was already the tenth man in the Aalen squad who was unable to play due to an injury. Schöckel's injury then turned out to be severe cartilage damage in the knee and made it impossible to continue his career until the end. With the relegation of Aalen to the fourth-class Regionalliga Süd at the end of the season, his contract became ineffective, which ended Schöckel's career - also due to the ongoing injury.

National team

In 1997 Schöckel completed eight international matches for the U-16 national team . He played his first two international matches on April 1 and 3, respectively, in Pforzheim and Weinheim against Turkey (2: 2 and 0: 1).
