Benjamin Schroeder

Benjamin Schroeder (* 1986 in Wolmirstedt ) is a German actor .

Life

Benjamin Schroeder was in East Germany - Region of Magdeburg born. After high school , he signed up as a regular soldier and after 8 years in the military, he decided to become an actor.

He completed his acting studies from 2010 to 2015 at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich . During his training he worked in productions at the Münchner Kammerspiele and at the Residenztheater in Munich under the direction of Nicola Hümpel , Herbert Fritsch and Dimiter Gotscheff .

In the 2014/15 season he gave a guest performance at the Vorarlberger Landestheater Bregenz in Federico García Lorca's tragedy Blood Wedding , directed by Sigrid Herzog .

From the 2015/16 season until the end of the 2016/17 season he was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Erlangen . There he played u. a. den Tempelherrn in Nathan der Weise (2015, directed by Katja Ott ), Andrej in Drei Schwestern (2016, directed by Elina Finkel ), Josef Schmitz in Biedermann und die Brandstifter (2016, directed by Elina Finkel), Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet ( 2017, directed by Eike Hannemann ) and Bruno in Angst Eating Soul (2017, directed by Katja Ott).

In the 2018/19 season he appeared at the Schaubühne Berlin as Martin's comrade in Italian Night (director: Thomas Ostermeier ).

Benjamin Schroeder also stood in front of the camera for several film and television productions. He first played in a few short films . He also took on roles in wide-ranging scenes in documentaries by ZDF and arte . He embodied Hermann Bahlsen , the inventor of the Leibniz biscuit , great clans in Germany - The Bahlsen Story (first broadcast: October 2018) and, alongside Nils Brunkhorst, the Hamburg clerk Fredder in Escape in the Name of God - The Huguenots (first broadcast: November 2019 ). He played his first movie role in August / September 2018 in the 2019 published contemporary western Brother Sister Heart , directed by Tom Sommerlatte .

Benjamin Schroeder is a member of the Federal Drama Association (BFFS) and lives in Berlin .
