Bensalem is a township in Bucks County in southeastern Pennsylvania . At the 2010 census, nearly 10% of the county's population was 60,427, making it the largest parish in the county and the ninth largest in the state.

history

Bensalem was founded in 1692, just ten years after Pennsylvania was founded, under the name Salem . Since 1701 at the latest, however, only the current name can be found.

geography

The community is immediately adjacent to Philadelphia to the south and Burlington County in the state of New Jersey to the east .

Attractions

Andalusia, or Nicholas Biddle Estate, is a property on the Delaware River that dates back to 1794. It got its current Greek Revival style from 1834 to 1836 after renovations by Thomas U. Walter, the architect of the Capitol's dome .
