Berberis glomerata is a plant from the family of Barberry (Berberidaceae). She is from Chile . The species was described in 1830 by William Jackson Hooker and George Arnott Walker Arnott in The botany of Captain Beechey ’s voyage .

Berberis glomerata grows as an upright, little branched shrub and reaches heights of 2 meters. The bark of young twigs is hairy, dark red-brown in color and turns gray with age. The thorns are either three-part or palm-shaped, five-part, the individual thorn branches are between 3 and 11 millimeters long.
The stiff leather-like leaves are stalked up to 0.5 millimeters, ovate-oblong to rhombic, curved, between 8 and 20 millimeters long and 2 to 10 millimeters wide. Their color ranges from gray-green to olive-green. They are sometimes slightly shiny and have up to two thorny 1 millimeter long teeth pointing upwards on the edge on each side; the tip of the blade ends in a downwardly 1 millimeter long thorn.
The elongated, racemose or gold-like inflorescence consists of three to eight flowers . The yellow flowers are about 2.5 millimeters long and have eleven bracts . The fruit is a spherical purple berry with a diameter of 6 to 7 millimeters. The seeds are about 4 millimeters long.
Berberis glomerata blooms in its homeland from July to September, it produces fruit from September to November.

This plant is in the Chilean province of Coquimbo endemic .
