Berestowe ( Ukrainian Берестове ; Russian Берестовое Berestowoje ) is a village in the southeast of the Ukrainian Oblast of Zaporizhia with about 2800 inhabitants (2001).
history
The village, founded in 1801 by settlers from the Poltava and Chernigov regions , got its name from the Berestowa River , which was named after the birch trees growing along the river bank. In the 19th century, the Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Church , which is now a national architectural monument, was built in the village .
geography
The village is located on the banks of the Berestowa ( Берестова ), a 22 km long right tributary of the Berda , 42 km north of the Berdjansk district center and 165 km southeast of the Zaporizhia Oblast center . Territorial road T – 08–19 runs through the village .
Berestowe Since August 2015, the administrative center of the same name, 498.15 square kilometers of rural community in the north of the Raion Berdyansk with a total of about 4400 inhabitants that even the villages Mykolaivs'ka ( Миколаївка ) with about 1080 inhabitants, Trojizke ( Троїцьке ) with about 750 inhabitants , Kalajtaniwka ( Калайтанівка ) with about 200 inhabitants Nowossoldatske ( Новосолдатське ) with about 150 inhabitants, Malyniwka ( Малинівка ) with about 110 inhabitants, Radywoniwka ( Радивонівка ) with 100 residents, Hlodowe ( Глодове ) with about 85 population, Dowbyne ( Довбине ) with about 30 inhabitants, Novoiwaniwka ( Новоіванівка ) with about 25 inhabitants and Satschky ( Сачки ) with about 25 inhabitants.
