Berge is a district of the municipality of Anröchte in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany and belongs to the Soest district .

geography

Berge is located about 2.5 km east of Anröchte in the southeast of the Soest district. Berge borders the villages of Anröchte, Erwitte and Weickede .

history

Berge was first mentioned in a document in 1216.

"This year, the two monasteries of Oerdingen (today Lennestadt) and Rumbeck (today the city of Arnsberg) are swapping the lands of their farms in Berge and Sirenchusen (probably today's Seringhausen) for land in their neighborhood because of the unfavorable location."

- Helmut Müller : Anröchte: History of his localities. Volume 1. From the beginning to around 1800.

The Berge farm was transferred to the Oelinghausen monastery in 1302 . The place name is probably not related to its location, but is derived from the word "bergen" ("protect").

The previously independent community came to Anröchte on January 1, 1975 and has been one of ten districts since then.
