The Berlin Marathon 2001 (officially: Real Berlin Marathon 2001 ) was the 28th edition of the annual running event in Berlin , Germany . The marathon took place on September 30, 2001.

In the men’s race, pacemaker Joseph Ngolepus won in 2:08:47 hours, in the women’s Naoko Takahashi in 2:19:46 hours.
