Bernd Edgar Jorkisch (born August 6, 1957 in Bad Segeberg ) is a German entrepreneur. He is the managing partner of the timber importer Jorkisch GmbH & Co. KG in Daldorf in Schleswig-Holstein and honorary consul of the Republic of Finland .

Life and work

After secondary school in 1975, Jorkisch completed an apprenticeship as a technician, which he completed in 1978. He joined his parents' timber business and in 1978 acquired a small sawmill in Daldorf. In 1986 he became the sole owner of this company. In 1995 he acquired a second location in Fehrenbötel , Schleswig-Holstein . From 1993 to 2003 he operated a “ joint venture sawmill” in the Republic of Latvia . The company's growth required the conversion to Jorkisch GmbH & Co. KG in 1997. In 1998, the third company location was established in the form of a sister company as a production location in Friedland , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Jorkisch is married, has three daughters and lives in Bad Segeberg .

Act

As President of the Lübeck Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2004 to 2010 and as Vice President from 2010 to 2016, he supported the self-government of the economy for a regional formation process in the form of a north German cooperation between Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein . As chairman of the state committee for economy, infrastructure and housing construction of the CDU Schleswig-Holstein , he is committed to an “Alliance in the North” in the context of future economic issues, which aims at close cooperation between Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Denmark . His commitment applies parallel to the Baltic Sea region and its development prospects. As chairman of the board of the HanseBelt Initiativkreis eV, his commitment to the realization of the fixed Fehmarnbelt crossing and the strengthening of the HanseBelt region as part of the European future axis Hamburg-Copenhagen / Malmö applies

Jorkisch is Honorary Consul of the Republic of Finland and commercial judge at the district court of Lübeck .
