Bernd Kofler

Bernd Kofler (born October 30, 1964 in Graz ) is an Austrian guitarist , composer and author and director of the Music Academy Austria.

Career

Bernd Kofler studied classical guitar at the Johann Josef Fux Conservatory in Graz . In 1988 he was named "Newcomer of the Year / Guitar" by the Austrian music journal "Tschinn Bum - Das Musikmagazin" . In 1993 Bernd Kofler and the band "Session" won Europe's largest music competition "Pop-o-Drom". As a studio guitarist he took part in over 500 music productions, including for Andreas Gabalier (the album recorded by Bernd Kofler went platinum for over 20,000 units sold and was nominated for an Amadeus as album of the year ). The single recorded by him by the interpreter Niddl (Single Perfect Attitude ) was nominated for an Amadeus Austrian Music Award .

Bernd Kofler took part in various bands that are stylistically somewhere between classical, jazz, rock, pop and world music, and with these he undertook concert tours in Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary. In his musical career he also played for Rainhard Fendrich , Waterloo , Margot Eskens , Andreas Gabalier , Oliver Haidt , Carl Peyer and Horst Chmela, among others . He also gained greater popularity through Europe-wide appearances and tours with Uriah Heep and the Spencer Davis Group .

Bernd Kofler has headed the Music Academy Austria since 2002 .

As a book author he writes textbooks for guitar.
