Bernd Schneider (born April 10, 1965 in Solingen ) is a German chess player .

In 1986 the World Chess Federation FIDE awarded him the title of International Master .

He played in the 1985/86 season with PSV / BSV Wuppertal and for several years with the Solingen chess company in the Bundesliga . With Solingen he was German team champion in 1987 , 1988 and 1997 and won the European Club Cup in 1990. In Belgium Schneider plays for KSK Rochade Eupen-Kelmis , with whom he took part in the European Club Cup three times.

In 1987 he won the Mitropacup in Mürren with the German national team . In 1988 he won the 2nd Open German Championship in Bad Lauterberg .

The SG 1868-Aljechin Solingen won with Joël Lautier , Jeroen Piket , Predrag Nikolić , Markus Schäfer and Bernd Schneider at the German Blitzmannschafts Championship June 2002 in Solingen.
