Bernhard Gerhard Hilhorst CSSp (born December 31, 1895 in Amsterdam , Netherlands ; † August 11, 1954 ) was a Dutch religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Morogoro .

Life

Bernhard Gerhard Hilhorst joined the Congregation of the Holy Ghost in and received on 27 August 1922, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On February 26, 1934, Pope Pius XI appointed him . the titular bishop of Motella and Apostolic Vicar of Bagamoyo. The Bishop of Haarlem , Johannes Dominicus Josephus Aengenent , donated him episcopal ordination on April 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of 's-Hertogenbosch , Arnold Frans Diepen , and the Superior General of the Spiritans, Bishop Louis Le Hunsec CSSp.

Bernhard Gerhard Hilhorst became on March 25, 1953 as a result of the elevation of the Apostolic Vicariate Bagamoyo to the diocese and its renaming as the first bishop of Morogoro. On December 12, 1953, Pope Pius XII took the resignation put forward by Hilhorst and appointed him titular bishop of Arsamosata .
