Bernhard Anton Sirch OSB (born April 26, 1943 in Günzburg ; † February 11, 2013 in Illschwang ) was a German Benedictine and publisher .

Life

Bernhard Sirch spent his childhood and youth in Krumbach, Augsburg and Bobingen . The oldest brother is a Benedictine in St. Ottilien (brother Gerold OSB). The sister (Sr. Sofie OP) is Dominican . After the humanistic grammar school, he entered the Archabbey of St. Ottilien . He studied philosophy in St. Ottilien and theology in Munich . On June 22, 1973 he received his doctorate as Dr. theol. with Walter Dürig at the University of Munich with the topic The Origin of the Episcopal Miter and Papal Tiara .

On July 19, 1970 he was ordained a priest and served through pastoral care, especially in the diocese of Augsburg and in the Landsberg correctional facility . from January 15, 1972 to July 22, 1993 was director of the EOS publishing house . From 1974 to July 1982 he was the boarding school director of the apprentice seminar in St. Ottilien as a state-recognized educator. For his youth work, he acquired the gold performance badge of the watchtower and the basic license for windsurfing. From 1977 to 1994 he was the parish representative in Rottach-Egern . From March 5, 1994 he was pastor in Achenkirch and Expositus in Hinterriß , Diocese of Innsbruck . In 2009 it belonged to the St. Georgenberg-Fiecht Benedictine Abbey in Vomp in Tyrol . He gave lectures at Radio Maria Austria and provided weekly impulses for readings and the Gospel of the upcoming Sunday to the internet newspaper Kath.net from the first Sunday in Advent in 2010 to the second Sunday in Advent in 2012.
