Bernhard Wagner (publisher)

Bernhard Wagner (born May 10, 1929 in Munich ; † April 5, 2015 there ) was a German media manager, publisher and editor.

Life

In addition to law , Wagner also studied philosophy , theology and history . He completed a diploma course in economics . He initially worked for Bayerische Rückversicherung , then from 1970 for Süddeutsche Verlag ( Süddeutsche Zeitung ), most recently as a long-term member of the management board .

From 1987 to 1995 Wagner was managing director of the Upper Franconian media group in Bamberg . He was the publisher and editor of the daily Fränkischer Tag and Thüringer Tag . In 1987 he initiated the participation in the local broadcaster Radio Antenne Franken (later Radio Bamberg ) and in his last year in office he arranged for an engagement with TV Oberfranken . In 1994 he opened a new printing center.

Wagner held numerous honorary positions. He was one of the initiators of the Hegel Week, which to this day takes place every year in early summer at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg .

Bernhard Wagner was also involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land and was a member of the German Association of the Holy Land . In 1990 he was the Cardinal Grand Master Giuseppe Cardinal Caprio Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy grave in Jerusalem appointed and on 19 May 1990 Bonn Minster by Cardinal Franz Hengsbach , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy invested . Most recently he was Commander of the Papal Lay Order.
