Bert Freyberger

Bert Freyberger (born 1966 in Erlangen ) is a German historian and educator . Since 2008 he has held the professorship for didactics of history at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg .

Career

Freyberger passed his Abitur at the Leopoldinum in Passau . From 1985 to 1994 he studied at the universities of Passau , Erlangen-Nuremberg and Aix-en-Provence . During this time he acquired the academic degree of Magister Artium in the subjects of Ancient History , Modern and Modern History as well as Romance Philology and passed the state examination in Latin , French and History . In 1996 he received his doctorate at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg with a thesis on Roman expansion policy in southern Gaul in the first century BC. Until 1998 he was employed as a research assistant at the Chair for Ancient History in Erlangen, before he started teaching as a trainee lawyer.

Until 2008 Freyberger worked as a teacher at various Bavarian schools and as a lecturer or lecturer at several Bavarian educational institutions. In 2008 he finally took over the professorship for didactics of history at the University of Bamberg. He was also u. a. From 2004 to 2011 board member of the Verein Alte Geschichte für Europa eV , from 2006 to 2008 specialist for history at the Ministerial Commissioner for Swabia , between 2006 and 2016 advisor to various curriculum commissions of the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture and 2013 to 2016 Executive Chairman of the Bavarian Conference for History Didactics .
