Bertrand Blanchet
Bertrand Blanchet (born September 19, 1932 in Saint Thomas de Montmagny ) is Old Archbishop of Rimouski .
Life
Bertrand Blanchet was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Chicoutimi on May 20, 1956 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Gaspé on October 21, 1973 . He received his episcopal ordination on December 8th of the same year by the Archbishop of Québec , Maurice Cardinal Roy ; Co- consecrators were Louis Joseph Jean Marie Fortier , Archbishop of Sherbrooke , and Gilles Ouellet PME , Archbishop of Rimouski .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Rimouski on October 16, 1992. On July 3, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
